CompTIA Network+ Certification

This certification is widely recognized in the IT industry and prepares professionals for roles like network field technician and junior network administrator. 

Overview 

The CompTIA Network+ certification validates an individual's knowledge and skills in networking, covering both wired and wireless networks. It's a vendor-neutral certification, meaning it doesn't focus on a specific network hardware or software brand, and is designed to help individuals develop a career in IT infrastructure. 

Target Audience

 

It's suitable for individuals with some networking experience and is a good foundation for further specialization in networking or related fields. It is recommended that candidates taking this exam must have the CompTIA A+ certification and a minimum of 9-12 months of hands-on experience working in a junior network administrator/network support technician job role. 

How to earn this certification?

Candidates must complete both N10-008 & N10-009 exam codes. 

Skills Overview 

  • Networking Concepts. Explain basic networking concepts, including the OSI model, network appliances, applications, cloud concepts, connectivity options and more. 

  • Network Implementations. Understand routing technologies and important factors of physical installations; configure switching technologies and wireless devices.

  • Network Operations. Monitor and optimize networks to ensure business continuity.

  • Network Security. Understand security concepts and network attacks to harden networks against threats. 

  • Network Troubleshooting. Explain the troubleshooting methodology and address common issues related to networking, including cable, connectivity, and software problems.
